There's absolutely no way I'll ever be able to fully describe what it felt like to run out onto the field at Ohio Stadium as a Manager with the Ohio State Football Program. It was a dream come true! There's so much to the story, but that's really not the purpose of this site. This site is truly dedicated as a Pay Forward site for all the help I had along the way...
Back in 2008, I decided to auction one set of tickets for one game (OSU vs. Michigan) and apply 100% of that amount to a Mission's Trip with my son to Brazil. It was an amazing trip where we were able to install 60 water filters in the Amazon River Basin for Thirst Relief International.
Prior to that Brazil trip, our family had made the decision to adopt 3 children from Ethiopia, and we brought them home in April of 2007. None of our lives have ever been the same, nor will they ever be the same again. And that's a good thing. Along the way, we received some grant monies from a couple really cool adoption-friendly organizations... LifeSong for Orphans & Shaohannah's Hope. Flying to Ethiopia. Flying to Brazil. Flying around Columbus. It's pretty easy to see and find people in need.
Then I had this crazy idea… We’ve all been given tickets to serve.... our tickets to serve others just are not necessarily the same tickets. Our skill sets vary. I was blessed with an opportunity to serve both Earle Bruce's and John Cooper's staff, and earned my varsity letter at The Ohio State University. I earned the right to purchase season tickets for life. What if these tickets were used every year as a means to serve someone in need, or as a means to help a ministry, or as a means to help fund a missions trip, or as a means to pay for medical bills, or as a means to help an adoption, etc… wouldn’t that be cool? So I came up with this catchy little phrase – “Tickets2Serve” – and here we are...
Very soon we will be auctioning off 2 Ohio State Football Season Tickets. The seats are right next to the club seats about 30 rows up in A Deck. Proceeds from the sale this year will go to support approximately 480 Orphans in Ethiopia who gather daily outside the capital city hoping to get fed and educated and medicated. We are trying to raise the funds to help them start building a much-needed kitchen. Don't forgot to bid if you are interested in these tickets as the needs are very great.
